SHORT-TERM INDEPENDENT STUDY

REQUIREMENTS

5 or more school day absences are eligible for STIS
Parents/guardians must complete the STIS Agreement prior to departure
Students may use STIS for up to 15 school absences per year. Each request is subject to teacher and admin approval.

PROCESS

Request STIS for you or your student
E-Sign by logging in your Aeries Parent Portal
STIS Begins - work on assignments while away
Prove Work by having your teachers complete this form and returning it to the attendance office upon return to campus. Attendance will be updated as follows:
- E code - Temporary STIS placeholder
- P code - Present
- N code - Non-participatory

Students interested in a long-term independent study program may be enrolled in Oakview High School if they meet the criteria.
