BIO

I primarily grew up in La Grande, Oregon and spent part of my elementary school years living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I spent six years in the Naval Reserve working for the MIlitary Sealift Command, which operated ports from Somalia through the Persian Gulf. I have had the great fortune to  work as a teacher, coach and administrator across Oregon, as well as in Durham, CA, and started at New Tech in 2021. In addition to those experiences I worked for the Oregon Department of Education to raise high school graduation rates across the state. 

My wife and I have raised a blended family of eight children, and are blessed to have four grandsons. As a family we enjoy athletics, competition, camping, hunting and fishing. Also, we enjoy time just sitting on our deck looking out at Mt. Shasta.
