About Us
The Shasta College TRIO Educational Talent Search Program assists students who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial aid information and assistance to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to a postsecondary institution of their choice.

Our Purpose:
The Shasta College TRIO Educational Talent Search Program will help identify a student’s strengths and structure future goals. Students will receive assistance completing a personalized educational plan focused on achieving their goals and success in postsecondary education.
Workshops and One-on-One Appointments Provided:
- Financial Aid — Assistance in completing Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), as well as Identifying and Applying for Scholarships •
- Assistance with College Applications and Essays
- Adjustment from Middle School to High School and College Workshops
- Test Taking Skills
- Career Information including Resume Development
Eligibility:
- First generation college student (neither parent has received a Bachelor’s Degree)
- Meet income guidelines
- Desire to graduate from High School and enroll in post-secondary education
- 6th-12th grade students
- Attend one of our participating schools below:
