Home of the Bulldogs!
North Valley High School is a continuation high school for the Anderson Union High School District. The District includes two comprehensive high schools, a public charter school, a community day school, an independent study school, and an adult education program, and a Shasta County inmate education program.
The district encompasses a predominantly rural area of approximately 232 square miles. Employment is primarily service-oriented and includes retail stores, agriculture, tourism, medical services, and government services. Formerly a lumber town, Anderson has seen its lumber mills and paper-producing industry disappear.
North Valley High School is located in Anderson, California. Anderson is located in southern Shasta County with an approximate population of 10,681 people. The district has approximately 2,034 students enrolled in all schools and programs. The district continues to experience declining enrollment (the last five consecutive years) as do the feeder elementary districts.
Student placements at North Valley High School occur voluntarily, through the District Student Study Team (DSST) process, or involuntarily through the School Attendance Review Board (SARB). Students may also be placed at North Valley High School by the governing board of the district in lieu of expulsion. Generally, students enter North Valley High School from the two comprehensive high schools, the county court and community school, new enrollments or transfers from other alternative education programs outside the Anderson Union High School District.
